The Customer
Food Service Logistics Ltd (FSL) was established in 2022 through a carve-out from a larger logistics business and provides nationwide distribution of food and drinks to retail outlets.
The Challenge
The IT infrastructure transformation project faced several significant challenges. The team had to work against a tight deadline to complete the migration while ensuring uninterrupted 24/7 operations. They grappled with a complex ecosystem, involving the migration of interconnected cloud applications, network infrastructure, and a diverse array of end-user devices across multiple sites. A seamless transition was crucial, requiring minimal service outages as they moved from the previous parent company’s IT services to independent arrangements. Additionally, managing the interdependencies of various components such as MPLS, firewalls, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and file servers while maintaining business continuity added another layer of complexity to the project.
Our Approach
Transputec’s comprehensive approach involved a multifaceted revision of FSL’s IT infrastructure. We executed a series of parallel tasks to ensure a seamless migration into a managed service environment.
The Outcome
Transputec successfully led FSL’s IT infrastructure transformation, transitioning from traditional network drives to a modern cloud-based solution. The project improved network performance, security, and application efficiency. Migrating to SharePoint enhanced data security and access control, while centralised Microsoft 365 tenant management reduced IT administration. Microsoft Intune implementation improved security posture and reduced device management overhead.
