I am delighted to announce that Transputec has been shortlisted in the Corporate VAR of the Year Category in the CRN Channel Awards 2016.
This is an accolade for all of the team at Transputec and well deserved recognition after more than 30 years of providing cutting-edge innovation and outstanding service to our customers, and excellent reward and recognition to our employees.
We are proud of our longevity in a constantly changing sector where many companies much bigger than ours have come and gone. We put this survival down to our record of constant innovation, together with a set of values that has remained unchanged over the years. To have the same founders still in charge after 30 years, along with a team of employees, several of whom have this year celebrated 20 years of service with us, is virtually unheard of in this field.
Our headquarters is in London, but we employ 150 people in offices around the world. We are proud of our tradition of sourcing staff from countries with particular expertise, including a service-centre in Manila, technical experts around Europe, developer teams around Asia and, this year, cyber security experts in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The success of the company has been based on a series of technical and market innovations that have added significant value to our clients, beyond just selling them hardware and software. Transputec was one of the first companies in the world to develop and promote cloud computing, taken as standard today. In 2000, ITDealer provided a platform for IT users to source hardware products in real time from major manufacturers and wholesalers at a time when this type of source data aggregation was unheard of.
In 2015, the new innovation was Crises Control, an emergency notification and incident management mobile app and SaaS solution that has just won the title of Most Innovative Product of the Year in the 2016 Business Continuity Awards. We believe that this history of innovation and developing new solutions for clients, including major companies such as Diageo and Swissport, makes us stand apart from many of our competitors.
One of the biggest challenges from VARs in recent years has been to recruit and retain quality staff. The super stars who can win new business and keep clients delighted with the quality of service that we provide to them. Transputec has always recognised this as a challenge and has always treated its employees as vital ingredients in its success. As part of the family.
Our innovative and customer centred philosophy and our attention to employee wellbeing has resulted in sustained financial success for many years. We create value, by translating complex technology into convenient productised services delivered by skilled and responsive people. Our mission is and always has been to “To help our customers solve their business issues with clever IT.”
