At Transputec, we hold a deep commitment to making a positive impact on the world. As an industry leader, we recognise our environmental impact and wholeheartedly invest ourselves in these endeavours.
Our Environmental Management System (EMS), and Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) encompass our sincere dedication to improving the world for everyone.
Our dedicated EMS team is focused on driving positive change throughout our organisation.
EMS Scope: Activities associated with the delivery of IT solutions and products. We are committed to protecting the environment and minimising the environmental impact within our business operations by seeking to:
Comply with applicable legal requirements and other stated requirements to which the Company subscribes which relate to its environmental aspects.
Prevent pollution, reduce waste and minimise the consumption of resources. Educate, train and motivate employees to carry out tasks in an environmentally responsible manner.
The Company is committed to continual improvement of environmental performance and this will be communicated to all staff, site contractors and suppliers.

What We Do
Working Towards a Greener Culture
We are dedicated to supporting our planet in every way possible. This commitment is reflected in our attainment of recognised certifications in energy and environmental management, as well as our determination to achieve net zero carbon emissions at the earliest opportunity. We continuously strive to make our processes, premises, and practices more environmentally friendly through initiatives like recycling programs, litter picking and fundraising events.
Our Achievements to Date
- We have implemented 70 solar panels in our office to generate the electricity required for our operations
- We have switched all company vehicles to electric (EVs), with EV charge points in the office car parking. Additionally, we have set up an additional six charge points at employees' homes
- We have successfully decreased the total number of servers in operation from 120 to 30 by deploying virtual servers
- We have upgraded our lighting systems in our office to LED-efficient alternatives
- We have appointed energy officers who actively encourage the practice of turning off unused lights and unplugging chargers and devices when they are not in use
- We have reduced reliance on air conditioning and heating systems by optimising the temperature control system in our office
- We utilise packaging materials crafted from recycled resources to reduce our environmental impact and promote a circular economy
- We actively encourage employees to unplug chargers and other devices when they are not in use, thus minimising energy consumption at their desks
- We have reduced printer usage, toner consumption, and the number of printers deployed as part of our sustainability initiatives

We continuously strive to make our processes, premises, and practices more environmentally friendly through initiatives like recycling programs, litter picking and fundraising events.
Transputec recognises the importance of achieving global CO2 neutrality, we are taking proactive steps to become carbon neutral by 2040. We have also adopted a responsible approach by working with supply chain partners and third parties who share this commitment so that together we can drive CO2 emission down to net zero.
Here we share some of our overarching initiatives:
- To foster a green and clean culture across the organisation through improved messaging and better environmentally friendly practices.

- To collaborate with organisations that have green initiatives seeking continual plans of improvement.
- To measure, monitor and reduce carbon emissions from our business activities and work with our supply chain and partners to achieve net zero CO2 emissions.
In 2016, the Paris Agreement came into effect, and nations and companies are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Transputec also considers climate change measures to be an important issue. In 2023, we are setting a long-term environmental target (2°C level: 50% reduction in GHG emissions by FY2031).
Transputec Long-term Environmental Targets
- Continue to reduce overall CO2 emissions
- Report CO2 emissions each Fiscal year
- Renewable energy adoption: Use 80% renewal energy by FY2026
- Scope 1, 2 GHG emissions: Reduce 50% by FY2031 compared to FY2020 levels
- Scope 3, GHG emissions: Reduce 50% by FY2031 compared to FY2020 levels
- Become a CO2 net zero supply chain by 2040
Scope 1 Emissions (direct emissions): GHG emissions from combustion and fugitive emissions from owned or controlled boilers, furnaces, vehicles refrigeration and chemical production in owned or controlled process equipment.
Scope 2 Emissions (indirect energy emissions): GHG emissions from the generation of energy utilised in direct connection to the activities of a particular entity/subject but occurring at sources owned or controlled by another entity. Electricity, heat, steam and cooling that is purchased or otherwise brought into the entity boundary.
Scope 3 Emissions (other indirect emissions): GHG emissions that are a consequence of the activities of an entity or subject but occur at sources owned or controlled by another entity and which are not classified as Scope 2 emissions. Includes use of bought products and services, waste disposal and use of public transport such as rail and aircraft.
Transputec aims to obtain SBT (Science Based Targets) certification from the SBT Initiative, an international environmental organisation, for Scope 1,2 and Scope 1,2,3 targets (2°C level) in 2022.
Ensure employee health and safety and prevent accidents and disasters at work.
- Transputec aims to build a corporate culture that creates an accident-free and disaster-free workplace environment where everyone can work safely and with peace of mind.
- Transputec will conduct risk assessments and reduce occupational health and safety risks by eliminating sources of danger to prevent workplace accidents and disasters.
- Transputec strives to build a work environment where employees feel healthy, enjoy job satisfaction and can reach their maximum potential by promoting mental and physical health.
Transputec provides systematic environmental education to help all employees understand the significance of environmental protection activities and their roles in them.
Specifically, environment education is divided into general/awareness education and special education and is provided to employees systematically depending on their rank and occupation to improve environmental awareness.
Transputec designates June as “Transputec Environment Month” to raise environmental awareness and enhance environmental protection activities at our office. In June, we will conduct various activities, including e-learning, plastic waste, planting trees and energy-saving initiatives. In June we will be rolling out environmental awareness courses on our e-learning platform. E-learning is aimed at all employees in the UK and overseas to help them understand issues regarding single-use plastic and promote plastic reduction at work and home. Furthermore, we will continue to promote environmental awareness among our employees to contribute to an eco-friendly society.
Transputec will conduct 6 months of internal CO2 audits to make sure the CO2 reduction activities and other complementary initiatives run properly in line with ISO14001 good practices.
The results and corrective actions are reflected in the review and the improvement of the Sustainability Strategy.

- Transputec will increase research and development of products/services that make a positive contribution to the enhancement of the global environment and minimise environmental impact at all stages of the product life cycle, and the Company will strive to spread the use of such products.
Contribute to a sustainable society.
- Transputec will promote greenhouse gas emission control in the entire value chain to contribute to the realisation of a carbon-free society.
- Transputec will contribute to the realisation of a society with sustainable recycling of resources by purchasing resources with low environmental impact, reducing the volume of new resource consumption, and minimising waste.
- Transputec will strive to prevent environmental pollution by properly managing chemical substances in all processes.
- Transputec will advance the conservation of biodiversity by minimising negative impacts on the natural environment, as well as by protecting and nurturing the natural environment.

Climate Essentials: Carbon Measured
The 'Carbon Measured' statu from Climate Essentials signifies that Transputec have successfully completed a full year of emissions reporting via the Climate Essentials platform. In fact Transputec has been using the platform since 2020. This includes covering all three scopes of emissions: Scope 1 (direct emissions), Scope 2 (indirect emissions from purchased energy) and Scope 3 (all other emissions). This comprehensive approach allows us to accurately measure our carbon footprint and ensures that any reductions are meaningful and measurable. This is a testament to our commitment to tracking and reducing carbon emissions, contributing to credible climate action and sustainability goals.
Climate Essentials: Net Zero Community
The Climate Essentials Net Zero Community is a collaborative initiative that aims to support organisations in their journey to achieve net zero carbon emissions. It provides a platform for sharing knowledge, resources and best practice among members. Transputec is proud to be a member of this community, learning from and collaborating with others to achieve collective climate action and sustainability goals.

Science Based Targets Initiative
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute, and World Wide Fund for Nature. It sets standards for science-based target setting and evaluates companies' goals. Transputec has joined in, committing to reducing carbon emissions with science-based targets. This move showcases Transputec's dedication to sustainability and positions them as a leader in responsible corporate citizenship.
